放學後大夥討論數學與物理

因為他們要捍衛(想衛冕)2013年的機器人競賽州冠軍

這是每年Park High School這個社團(Data Bits)成員一定要做的事

Math skills are essential. We use a²+b²=c² all the time.

18歲高中生說"數學是必要的技能，我們常常使用a²+b²=c²

教練Cottage Grove(下圖) 工作於 Compass Airlines

他是因為興趣而業餘的擔任教練

他說:Robotics is the new cool 機器人很酷(比起其他的..)

還說:These kids all love science; their whole world is immersed in it.(他們沉浸在科學與樂趣中)

但是，不只是數學。

我們更像一個小型的公司，教練說，除了教導科學和指導機器人團隊

學生製作文宣，尋求資金，尋找商業合作夥伴關係，並設計隊服

這三年中，他們已經贏得了10個獎項，包括了州冠軍

This team is hooked," Huber said. "We put 30 to 40 hours a week in, but that's the fun and energy of it. We do whatever we have to, to meet a deadline."

每週花30~40小時在機器人社團學生也不覺得煩(PS 如果只是算數學呢?早就煩了吧!)

Data Bits已開始準備2013的比賽

最後將選出4位選手去衛冕州冠軍

"It's a battle of the brains," Matheny said. "I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather do."

我滿腦都是戰鬥，學生Matheny說:我想不出還有什麼是我甘願做的
